1. 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

At StoryMagic, we stand behind the quality and value of our service. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all new subscribers purchasing any of our subscription plans (Digital, Printed, or Ultimate).

If you are not completely satisfied with StoryMagic within 30 days of your initial subscription purchase, we will refund the full amount of your first month's subscription. No questions asked.

2. Eligibility for Refund

2.1 Who Can Request a Refund

The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to:

  • First-time subscribers who have not received a refund previously
  • Customers who purchased a subscription within the past 30 days
  • Subscriptions purchased directly through our website (storymagic.design)
  • Customers in good standing who have not violated our Terms of Service

2.2 30-Day Calculation

The 30-day refund window is calculated from the date you made your initial subscription payment. For example, if you purchased a subscription on January 15th, you may request a refund until and including February 14th.

If the 30th day falls on a weekend or UK bank holiday, your refund request will be accepted on the next business day.

3. How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is simple and straightforward:

  • Your full name and account email address
  • The date you purchased your subscription
  • Your subscription plan (Digital, Printed, or Ultimate)
  • A brief explanation of why you'd like to cancel (optional, but helps us improve)

3.2 Processing Timeline

We process refund requests within 5 business days of receiving your request. We will send you a confirmation email once your refund has been approved and initiated.

3.3 Refund Method

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method used for the purchase. Most refunds will appear in your account within 3-5 business days, though some banks may take up to 10 business days depending on your financial institution.

If you paid by credit or debit card, the refund will be credited back to your card as a credit memo. If you paid by bank transfer or another method, the refund will be processed back to the account used.

4. What Happens to Your Account and Stories After Refund

4.1 Account Access

Upon approval of your refund request, your subscription will be cancelled immediately. You will lose access to the StoryMagic service and your dashboard.

4.2 Your Generated Stories

Before we process your refund, you have the opportunity to download all stories that have been generated for you. We strongly recommend downloading your stories before requesting a refund, as your access will be revoked after the refund is processed.

If you have received printed books as part of the Printed or Ultimate plan, you may keep these books. Printed books are not returnable as part of the refund process.

4.3 Account Data Deletion

Once your refund is processed, your account will remain in our system for 90 days as required by law for accounting and anti-fraud purposes. After 90 days, you may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data (child profiles, account information, etc.) by contacting us.

Some information may be retained longer if required by law (such as transaction records for tax purposes), but your personal and child profile data will be securely deleted upon request.

5. Exceptions and Exclusions

The 30-day money-back guarantee does NOT apply to:

  • Customers who have previously received a refund from StoryMagic
  • Refund requests made more than 30 days after purchase
  • Subscriptions that were cancelled before the refund request was made
  • Purchases made through third-party platforms or resellers (not our official website)
  • Customers who have violated our Terms of Service or used the service fraudulently
  • Customers whose subscription is being refunded due to a dispute with their payment method or chargeback
  • Refunds requested due to buyer's remorse after extended use beyond a trial period

6. Cancellation Without Refund

If your 30-day refund period has expired, you may still cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. After the refund period:

  • You will not receive a refund of past or current subscription fees
  • No refunds are provided for partial months
  • Your subscription will continue through the end of your current billing period
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle
  • You can reactivate your subscription at any time

7. Refund for Failed Payments or Billing Errors

7.1 Duplicate Charges

If you were charged twice for the same subscription period due to a technical error, please contact us immediately. We will investigate and refund any duplicate charges within 5 business days.

7.2 Unauthorized Charges

If you believe you were charged without authorization or without proper consent, please contact us immediately at hello@storymagic.design. We will investigate thoroughly and refund any unauthorized charges.

7.3 Pricing Errors

If you were charged an incorrect amount due to a pricing error on our website, we will refund the difference. If we undercharged you due to an error, we will not retroactively charge you for the difference; instead, we will apply the undercharge as a credit to your account.

8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or dispute with your bank or payment provider regarding your StoryMagic subscription, your account will be immediately suspended pending investigation. If a chargeback is issued against us, we will:

  • Suspend your account to prevent further charges
  • Investigate the legitimacy of the dispute
  • Provide documentation to your bank if required
  • Reserve the right to permanently terminate your account if the dispute is deemed fraudulent

We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any billing issues before initiating a chargeback, as this typically resolves disputes faster.

9. Tax and Currency Considerations

All subscription fees are displayed and charged in British pounds (£) including VAT. Refunds will be processed in the same currency as the original charge. If your bank applies currency conversion fees when crediting your account, these fees are the responsibility of your financial institution, not StoryMagic.

10. European Union Right of Withdrawal

For customers in the UK and EU, the 30-day money-back guarantee aligns with and exceeds the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal period applicable to digital goods and services. We offer 30 days instead of the minimum 14 days as required by consumer protection law.

By requesting a refund within 30 days and explicitly accepting the loss of the digital content (the generated stories), you acknowledge that you are exercising your right to withdraw from your subscription contract.
